Apparently, Nancy is “not the jealous type.” Yeah, okay Nancy. ![]() There was even a moment where you played as Ned and used your charm to seduce the local college sorority girl. The characters all had their own personality and voice acting and it was well done. The traveling in this map was easy, and the environments were well designed. The transferring characters to play as using the phone was creative, however having to constantly switch to Nancy to do so became a bit tedious. The story was interesting and had me guessing till the end. There's a lot to like here, it just sometimes takes a little while to get to it.īy far one of the better Nancy Drew games. Still, for all its problems, it's rarely a hassle for long and drops entertaining new conversations on you often enough to keep you going. The idea of multiple characters is interesting, but ends up being more of a hassle than anything, with each character locked out of certain tasks and a need to call Nancy between each and have her call the next person to take the case. Puzzles tend to be poorly placed and are tedious and overcomplicated. The interface is dreadful, particularly for the inventory, a collection of tiny indistinguishable icons with no labels or tooltips or anything. Unfortunately, as is too common with these things, it tends to fall apart when it tries to be an actual game. The game's at its best when you're just walking around talking to people. The mystery is actually pretty solid and most of the cast is entertainingly written with solid voice acting (Nancy still sounds like a robot, but what can you do). Nancy Drew has been framed for arson and, stuck in jail, it's up to her friends to go harrass the people hanging around the fire and clear her name. Turns out it's honestly much better than I'd expected. Having played a couple earlier Nancy Drew games years ago and hating them, I spotted this on the sale and decided to give the series another shot. Choose from Junior or Senior Detective difficulty levels.Save your reputation before it goes up in smoke.Order different flavors of ice cream at the parlor.Visit the Drew home and explore Nancy’s room.Collect evidence and pin it on the suspects.The answers vary depending on which character asks.
