While the layout is somewhat inconvenient, it makes up for it with a blazing quick turret traverse of 4.7 seconds for a full 180 turn, and the reload, well, it’s stupidly quick. XXVI Rifles in 5 dual purpose double turrets. Minotaur’s primary armament is enough to make most ships sweat just thinking about. On the other hand, when firepower is concerned, let’s just say that most ships don’t survive that long, either. So don’t count on lasting for very long if you get caught out in the open without your repair party at the ready. Hell, even Mega-Zao ( Thanks, Flamu) will citadel this thing with HE. Minotaur also has a terrible armor scheme, largely due to a couple of factors, one being it’s positively titanic citadel, and the other being it’s terrible plating of just 16mm all around, making it hideously vulnerable to high explosive from almost any ship. Fifty percent, are you kidding me!? Then again, it’s not unreasonable. It heals back 75% of normal penetration damage and 50% of citadel damage. Minotaur has both, with 43,300 stock HP ( better than Zao) and literally the stupidest heal I have ever seen WeeGee stick on a cruiser, ever. All the light cruisers at this tier, this thing, Smolensk, Colbert, and the Worcester, all have either good HP or a gimmick that allows them to survive for longer. Wanna know why? Stick around.įirst off, the most important, and most stupid thing, is the survivability of this light cruiser. Still, this is the one thing you DON’T want to see when you’re in any ship, even at full HP. At the same time, it’s become a bit of a punching bag for some ships, such as the more accurate battleships in the game, with it’s weak armor, large size, and horribly exposed citadel. Meet the Minotaur, the original tier 10 light cruiser, and also the most fearsome light cruiser in the game, with an arsenal of weapons and tools that makes it’s stablemates go red with envy, makes battleships fret about each lost hitpoint, and makes destroyers crap their pants the moment they see it, and makes carriers seriously regret their life choices. Then there’s the ship that does all three at the same time, while also clearing the skies of those flying nuisances called planes. When the time comes for cleanup, you ask for one of three things: either a battleship to mop the floor with a troublesome cruiser, or a cruiser to wipe out a bothersome DD, or a DD to nuke a battleship. *loads guns* Time to bring on the stupid train. That's why when i see in the MM an enemy Kutuzov in the enemy team during l think to myself "This should be fun!" But when i see a high tier RNCL in the enemy team this comes to my mind " i will have to focus that thing down before doing anything else! I know what will happen if i dont prioritize that thing" No matter what ship class i'm with at the moment.World of Warships Ship Opinions: Minotaur To prove my point about the RNCL smoke being overpowered: Kutuzov is one of the best peforming ships in the game and also have smoke, that can be layed in a larger area, but it lasts less. Only with map awareness and smoke managing. Because i'm almost sure i'll be able to carry the game without effort or skill. I only bring that thing to battle when i get annoyed by a losing streak. Even being an arcade game, as a engineering student when i see those armor profiles they tickle me off!!! Who wanted to build a warship that way!?Īnd when i play with Fiji i feel REALLY dirty. Since they rely on staying undetected the entire match to do stuff. Making them being balanced by making the ships 90% made of citadels isn't the best approach either. The only thing that really counters them properly is Des Moines that has the RoF to kill them faster than they can heal and an accurate BB like Yamato, Iowa or Missouri to one-shot that ship or they will recover 40% of the HP with a single consumable charge, even if it's citadel damage (I double-citadelled a Minotaur once with Yamato only for him to heal it like it was nothing right after, i know it was a bad aimed salvo. In another scenario i did a 25k salvo in a Edinburgh with Takao, making his HP drop below 1k, 16 seconds later that thing was with 15k HP back, at least the player didnt angle for whatever reason, so i managed to deal the finishing blow).īefore anyone say i'm totally against RNCLs. If the ship isnt angled perfectly due to them being able to citadel other cruisers at high angles. Even if u manage to land the citadel those things will heal A LOT anyways. With the exception if another cruiser that isn't a RNCL miss a single salvo against one in high tiers she's pretty much dead. Just learn how to do it instead of asking for your hand to be held. At 10km, even the tier 8 cruisers have strong and accurate enough shells to blind fire his citadel.
